Code of conduct.

Community

Commitment.

The Quaric Foundation commits to providing an open, welcoming and respectful environment to any person contributing to, participating in or interacting with the foundation and its projects, regardless of age, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, visible or invisible disability, physical appearance, ethnic origin, nationality, religion, political beliefs or technical experience.

Expected behaviour.

Show respect, empathy and kindness toward others. Accept critical feedback with openness and provide it with courtesy. Acknowledge mistakes and learn from interactions. Prioritise the general interest of the community over individual interest. Use inclusive and precise language.

Prohibited behaviour.

Harassment, insults, personal attacks, sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist comments, or any form of discrimination. Non-consensual sharing of sexual or intimate content. Disclosure of private information without authorisation. Provocation and trolling. Any other conduct reasonably considered inappropriate in a professional or community setting.

Scope.

This code applies to all Quaric Foundation spaces, online or physical: code repositories, mailing lists, chat rooms, events, official social media, and any interaction where a person represents the foundation.

Reporting.

Any behaviour contrary to this code can be reported by email to contact@quaric.org. Reports are handled with discretion. The reporter's identity is protected. Anonymous reports are also examined.

Measures.

The foundation may take, depending on the seriousness of the facts, the following measures: private warning, public request for behaviour change, temporary withdrawal of access to community spaces, permanent exclusion from the community. Decisions are reasoned and notified to the person concerned.

Inspiration.

This code is inspired by the Contributor Covenant 2.1 and the codes of conduct of the Apache, Mozilla and Rust foundations, adapted to the Quaric Foundation context.
